Body Language

I think body language is one of the most important attributes for an athlete! I want athletes who can handle adversity in a positive way, and I want athletes who can continue to contribute to our team even if it's not through your play. Body language is so important because it shows your coaches and your teammates what kind of athlete you really are. Are you someone who is selfish and only cares about what good things are happening to you, or that things are going your way? Or are you the type of athlete and person who handles everything with class, stays upbeat, and is always there to support your teammates, coaches and family? If you aren't a starter how are you acting on the sidelines? Are you upbeat and cheering on your teammates, or are you quiet sitting in the back until you can have an opportunity? Are you supportive when you are pulled from a game when your team is ahead and the next man is given an opportunity? I want to see my players be excited for their teammates to have an opportunity to get some time. Be there to help them and coach them up! If you can always have a positive attitude and positive body language it is going to help you in sports, but it is also going to be a great skill to have in life! I don't think there is a job out there where you aren't going to be asked you to do something that you don't want to do, things are not always going to go your way. How do you respond? Your employer will take notice of how you respond to adversity and handle change. That may be what gives you the upper hand when there is a promotion available. At the end of the day, body language is a major factor in how you present yourself in all situations so why wouldn't you want to leave the best impression possible? It is always your choice in how you respond! Lion Strong!
